Recorded by me on the second day of the Download Festival.
I positioned myself underneath one of the speaker stacks that was alongside the sound and lighting tower in the venue.
The weather and conditions at this years festival were pretty good for a change too, but there is some phasing due to the wind, which I guess is to be expected seeing as I'm basically standing in a field.
I've no problem with a band playing a long set, but not when its full of songs that frankly I don't want to hear them play. I usually edit out any chat between songs but at the end of Nightrain me and my mate are discussing how self indulgent it is and how they lost the crowd too, in particular after Sweet Child O'Mine I think. Overall they could have cut out 6 covers and some of the extended solos and made the set more streamlined and interesting or, heaven forbid, play some of their own songs in place of the covers.
I haven't got round to this for a while because I had an issue in one channel which could be a problem with these mics or it could be that I didn't take my battery box. I've fixed it as best I can and its not too bad but I've never really been happy with it overall and thats been my love hate relationship with taping at the Download Festival in general because its so hard to get a decent recording if the weather isn't on your side. There is some crowd noise at times with people talking around me during the quieter parts.
I've attached samples in the first post of this thread so please be sure to check it out before downloading.
Please respect my wishes and don't convert to lossy formats.
