昨日、今年のコーチェラ・フェスティバルのラインナップが発表され、正式に再結成を果たすことが発表されたガンズ・アンド・ローゼズだが、スラッシュとダフ・マッケイガンの参加を正式に発表している。
今回発表された声明では以下のように述べられている。「新天地を開拓し、トレンドを生み出し、ロックンロールの一面を変えた30年間にわたる偉業を掲げてきたガンズ・アンド・ローゼズが、今世紀において最も重要で切望されてきた出来事を発表しました。バンドの創設者であるアクセル・ローズと以前のメンバーであるスラッシュとダフ・マッケイガンが再びグループを組み、コーチェラ・フェスティバルのヘッドライナーを務めます」
ただし、それ以外のメンバーについては依然明らかにされていない。
クラシック・ラインナップでのガンズ・アンド・ローゼズ再結成の噂は、ギタリストのスラッシュが、ヴォーカルのアクセル・ローズとのほぼ20年続いた仲たがいの後、関係を修復したことを認めたこの夏以来、加熱していた。
音楽サイト「コンシークエンス・オブ・サウンド」は、ドラマーのマット・ソーラムが参加するのではないかと昨年末に報じているが、様々な報道が錯綜しており、メンバーについては今後の発表が待たれている。

他のメンバーについては公式なアナウンスはありませんが、多くのメディアが近年のメンバーであるリチャード・フォータス、フランク・フェラー、ディジー・リード、クリス・ピットマンが参加するだろうと伝えています。

他の元メンバー達の参加も気になるところだが、同ステートメントでは1986年のゲフィン・レコード契約時の5人のクラシック・ラインナップ全員の名前は記されていない。元リズムギタリストのイジー・ストラドリンや元ドラマーのスティーヴン・アドラーが同パフォーマンスに加わるのか、もしくは他の誰が参加するのかは依然として不明だ。1990年に最初にアドラーが抜け、その翌年、ストラドリンがバンドを去った。
米ビルボードは現在、バンドの代表にコメントを要請しているが現時点ではまだ回答を得られていない。
【コーチェラ・フェスティバル】は4月15～17日と22～24日の2週末にわたり米カリフォルニア州インディオで開催され、ガンズ・アンド・ローゼズは各週土曜の夜に出演する。ローズ、スラッシュ、マッケイガンの3人が一緒にパフォーマンスするのは、1993年7月17日に行われたブエノスアイレスのRiver Plate Stadium公演以来初となる。
